Get Personal – Gift your guests with homemade wedding favors

Bombonieres or as we know them, wedding favors, are meant to provide your guests with a special memento of your special day. Homemade wedding favors are the perfect way to extend your most heartfelt "thanks" to all those in attendance. Today, wedding favors are no longer restricted to the usual "Jordan almond chocolates wrapped in tulle and tied with ribbon that matches your wedding colors." If you are looking for the unique and creative wedding favors, why don’t you try the homemade ones and get extra personal with all your guests.

Make your guests know how much they are appreciated. Here are some popular ideas for homemade wedding favors.

Homemade Jam: Why not make a small jar of homemade jam for each guest. Then search for a bottle manufacturer. Then, pick some strawberries. Spend an afternoon cleaning, mashing cooking and funneling jam into boiled jars. Then, cover each bottle with a fabric of your choice and finish it with a ribbon. The work promises fun, and hopefully your guests will know that they were thought of! Can I make some further suggestion …make sure your guests realize that this is homemade, personal gift by using a note or label or simply announce it as such.

Sparkling Cider With Love Quotes: If you are on a tight budget, but still want a lavish wedding favor, then the obvious choice should be a homemade wedding favor. Try buying some small bottles of Sparkling Cider in bulk. The bottles average about $1 a piece. Make your own labels from your computer on special hand made papers. Spend time in bookstores to find the most romantic quotes related to either friendship or love and print them on the tag, with a special note thanking your guests. Each of the bottles should be wrapped in cellophane and tied with a ribbon with a rose.  Hope this homemade wedding favor your wedding more memorable.

Glazed Tiles: Another homemade wedding favor is to use rubber stamps to print variations of hearts on small tiles, then writing the date of the wedding. After glazing and firing the tiles, glue magnets on the back of each tile. Wrap the tiles in gauze and ribbon and place out as part of the place settings. Everyone surely should love them and comment on how original and charming they are.

Seedlings: For some people it is important for the wedding favor to reflect them as a couple, as well as being useful after the wedding. And if you are crafty, then make small fabric-covered hat boxes for the women and buy tiny tree seedlings from a local nursery for the men. Attach a poem to the trees, and cover their root balls with the same fabric as used for the boxes.

Christmas Stuff: If your wedding is close to Christmas then incorporate some holiday cheer into the wedding. Your homemade wedding favors will be small Christmas stockings filled with candy, including a candy cane that has a ribbon with your names and wedding date tied around it.

Herbs & Candles: If you want multiple uses of your wedding favors then tie some strands of herbs & candles in mini pots to both decorate the tables at the reception and to give as homemade wedding favors. Use potted topiaries and potted mini roses as both altar decorations and reception-help "thank you" presents. Painted the pots in wedding colors & attach a card with your names & the date for the mini pots and have used metallic paint pens to write this information and the name of the recipient on the larger pots. Any "left-over" favors will just go back into your garden!

Some people also decide to integrate the reception decorations and wedding favors. Include your fiancé to make this handmade wedding favor. Used raffia hearts (for love), bows (for tying the knot), and wreaths (for the circle of love). On each favor, hot glue 3 12" ribbon loop sand streamers, Then tie them with burgundy ribbon to the backs of the chairs by the caterer in a random order.

The options are endless, so use your imagination to prepare your homemade wedding favors for your loved ones.
